Prominent Ukrainian women of the 20th century often remain unnoticed. Someone may be hearing about the fate of some of the heroines of this book for the first time, but their role in Ukrainian history should not be underestimated. These are doctors, teachers, participants of the national liberation movement, political prisoners, journalists, soldiers, cultural figures... Without them - strong, active, devoted - the pages of our family would be completely different.
This book contains interviews, testimonies, archival documents and references about notable women of Ukraine - materials from the "Historical Truth" resource. Among them is a unique interview with Kvitka Tsysyk, and articles about doctor of medicine Rozalia Lifshits-Vynnychenko, prisoner Iryna Tymochka - "Christ" and writer Olena Teliga, and a conversation with Valentina Shevchenko, who headed the Presidium of the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian SSR during the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
The editor of the collection is Vakhtang Kipiani, a Ukrainian journalist, historian, editor-in-chief of the "Historical Truth" online publication.
