Petrus Lelechenko lives in a modest hut on the outskirts of the village near the forest. A boy is a boy, he has a mother and an aunt, and five years ago, his father went with the Cossacks to liberate prisoners from Turkish captivity - and since then he has not been seen again. But suddenly everything changes for Petrus: he sees how, honorably holding up the kirpa, a domino walks in front of him! And it turns out that beyond the boundaries of ordinary human life there is a land of invisible spirits and mysterious beings, where the boy is lured by a magical song, because it is up to him to find a fern flower and change the world forever. The evil and merciless army of the black goddess Mara stands against Petrus. The fate of the gods and life itself depend on the courage of a twelve-year-old boy, and also on the skill and wisdom of his new friends: Dream, Owl, Live and Striga.
